The second show of Valley Christian Theatre’s 2013-2014 season, The Drowsy Chaperone opened last Thursday, October 17. The show opens with a woman introducing herself and her love for Broadway theatre. She then takes out a record of her favorite Broadway show, The Drowsy Chaperone. As she listens to the record, the characters from the show appear in her apartment and act as the woman gives commentary. The story revolves around a wedding about to happen between a oil tycoon and a Broadway star. In a strange twist in events, the wedding gets canceled and the people there get overwhelmed by the strange turn of events that follow. This 1920s style musical is very unique with its “show within a show” concept. In the actual show, one of the character is listening to a recording of another show. This hilarious Broadway show is a must-see for anyone looking to see a high-quality Broadway show or someone who just want a fun-packed evening. The show runs this week Thursday to Saturday at 7:30, with a special matinee show on Saturday at 2 pm. Get your tickets at the theatre box office during lunch and after school, at the door on the night of the show, or online on the VCT website .
